Julie Kay Thebo's Obituary
Big Rapids - Julie Kay Thebo, 69, of Big Rapids, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids. She was born September 20, 1944 in Big Rapids, the daughter of James and Carolyn (Drake) Davidson. Julie attended Big Rapids High School, and then earned her B.S. Degree in Human Services from Ferris State College in 1982. For several years, Julie worked for Mecosta County Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and then for nearly 20 years she served as Director of the Mecosta-Osceola Youth Attention Center. She also served on the board of directors for the Organization for Youth, Mecosta Remus Youth Center. On October 20, 1962, she married Ronald C. Thebo, who preceded her in death on May 11 of this year. Surviving are two children, Gary (Michelle) Thebo of Big Rapids, and Roni (Kevin) Thebo-Park of Portage; seven grandchildren, Monique, Trevor, and Jared Thebo, Joshua and Madison McAllister, and Aurelia and Isaac Park; 4 brothers, Gerald (Corlyn) Davidson of Bay City, Donald (Jan) Davidson of Barryton, Herbert (Ruth) Davidson of Stanwood, Robert (Lee) Davidson of Gold Hill, OR; 4 sisters, Carol Gillig of Beverly Hills, FL, Barbara (Mike) Weed of Stanwood, GayLynn Green of Stanwood, Mary Jayne (Dean) Oliver of Klamath Falls, OR; sisters-in-law, Pat Davidson, Sandy (Neal) Ensing, Sharyn (Scott) VanderKolk, Mary Thebo; brother-in-law Gary (Diane) Thebo; plus many nieces and nephews. Julie was also preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, John and David Davidson and Robert Brown; and 3 brothers-in-law Ronald Gillig, Robert Green, and Rick Thebo. Funeral services for Julie will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 15, 2014, at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, with her cousin Scott Davidson officiating. Burial will be in the Highland View Cemetery. Her family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday, June 14, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., and prior to services on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mecosta-Osceola Youth Attention Center or the Organizers for Youth, Mecosta Remus Youth Center, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
