June M. Heisler's Obituary
Big Rapids June M. Heisler, 72, of Big Rapids, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at Altercare of Big Rapids. She was born September 20, 1935, near Kalkaska, the daughter of Kenneth and Clara (Crane) Long, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1955. For several years, June worked at the Pine Shops in Big Rapids, and more recently she had worked at Wolverine World Wide Plant B until retiring. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, and reading. On November 25, 1955, she married Roger E. Heisler, who preceded her in death on August 7, 2001. Surviving are 1 daughter, Debra and her husband Louis Powell, Jr. of Morley; 1 son, Roger Heisler, Jr.; 2 grandchildren, Carrie Powell and Curt Powell, both of Kentwood; a brother Dale Long of Traverse City; sister-in-law Barbara Heisler of Rockford; 2 aunts, Jeanne (Dale) Lantzer of Kalkaska, Donna (Bill) Buehl of hastings; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. June was also preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Harry Weible; her parents-in-law Lloyd and Helen Heisler, and her brother-in-law Alan Heisler. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 1, 2008, at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, with Rev. Lam T. Le officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Big Rapids. Memorial contributions for the American Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home, where Junes family will greet friends today (Thursday) from 5-8 p.m., and prior to services on Friday.
