June Dora Zerbe's Obituary
June Dora Zerbe, age 95, formerly of Big Rapids, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2025, in Bluffton, IN with family by her side.
She was born on June 30, 1929, in Wyandotte, MI, the daughter of John and Catherine (Schoen) Gering. June was a woman of great warmth and unwavering devotion to her family. On December 2, 1950, she married the love of her life, William L. Zerbe. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and faith, raising seven children.
June had a kind and social spirit. She loved playing cards with friends and family, always quick to share a smile or story. Her hands were rarely still—she found joy in crocheting beautiful blankets. June was deep in her faith and attended St. Peter’s Lutheran Church for many years.
She is survived by her children: John (Cynthie) Zerbe, Cathy Parker, and Pam (Tony) Bennett; 20 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy lives on through each of them.
June was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William; sons, Robert, Roy, William (Bill) and Dennis Zerbe; daughter-in-law Ann Zerbe; and four siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, at Mohnke Janowicz Funeral Home in Big Rapids. The family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Hungerford Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to William.
Memorial contributions in June’s name may be made to Corewell Hospice or Heart to Heart, in honor of the compassionate care they provided.
