Junior J Denslow's Obituary
Lakeview - Junior Jay Denslow, age 87, passed away May 29, 2016 at Cedar Crest Adult Foster Care in Remus, Michigan. Junior was born March 21st, 1929 in Weidman, MI, the son of Jay and Opal (St. John) Denslow.
Junior was raised in Weidman and graduated from Weidman High School Class of 1948. He married Harriet M. Cummings September 26, 1948 at the Weidman Methodist Church. Junior was a longtime business owner of the Lakeview Sporting Good Store and then Ron's Sporting Goods (now Tamarack Sports) until retiring in 1996. He was an avid sportsman of hunting and fishing. He was always a family man and enjoyed all sports especially baseball.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents Jay and Opal Denslow; sisters Eula and Jean; father and mother-in-law Harold and Eunice Cummings; and grandson Ryan Olmstead.
Junior is survived in death by his wife Harriet Denslow, of 67 years, of Lakeview; son Ronald (Dianna) Denslow of Weidman; daughter Debra Denslow of Lakeview; grandchildren Ronald Jr. (Julie) Denslow of Weidman, Eric (Kendra) Denslow of Antioch, IL, Tyler (Kady) Bowen and Carrie Hansen from Lakeview; one brother Berl (Shari) Denslow of Weidman; great-grandchildren Teagan, Hayden and Nolan Denslow, Easton, and Landon Denslow, Addalyn Shay Olmstead, Logan, and Paige Hansen, Lilly, and Wyatt Bowen; and one great-great-grandson Brodie Polovino; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
At the family's request, services will be scheduled at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice of Big Rapids.
