Junior J. Leyder's Obituary
Junior J. Leyder, age 83, of Big Rapids passed away Monday, September 17, 2012. He was born on February 7, 1929 in Evart, Michigan, the son of Herbert H. and Lucy M. (Baldwin) Leyder. Junior worked for Michigan-Wisconsin Pipeline for over 33 years, retiring in 1991. He married Reva Walters, his wife of 61 years, in Big Rapids on June 6, 1951. Junior was a long time Deacon at the Community of Christ Church in Big Rapids. He enjoyed working around the farm. Junior is survived by his wife, Reva; four children, Dale (Sue) Leyder of Hale, Alan (Cindy) Leyder of Big Rapids, Dr. Ronald (Barbara) Leyder of Newaygo, Cheryl (Gregory) Wellman of Cedar Springs; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and four sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Paul and one infant grandson, Christopher. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Mohnke Funeral Home with Elder Charles Cushway officiating. Interment will be at Pine Plains Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home and from 2-3 p.m. Thursday. Memorial Contributions may be made to Community of Christ Church in Big Rapids.
