My prayers of peace and comfort go out to Violet and her family. May Justin now Rest In Peace. It was a privilege to meet Justin & Violet on Aug 16, 1981 when my parents drove me back to Remus, Michigan to pick up this statue that my mother-in-law Blanche Wernette Flajole had inherited. She loved it very much when she passed on Sept 15, 2005 my husband Dick and I became the protector of this beautiful statue. I'm sad that we never made it back to any of the Wernette reunion's that were always in Aug., so we could get to know all of you much better. Hopefully you can reach out to us again we are on Facebook. Linda & Dick Flajole
My first memories of Justy were when he delivered gas to our farm when I was a little kid.
He was always very friendly. I really enjoyed serving with him for the past 15 years at the VFW. He was always happy to see you.

Such a great member of the community and so cheerful and friendly. Paul and Laura Wernette
The last time I saw my great uncle I was with my mom, Orene Babcock (Smith) and my dad, Sidney Babcock, in Remus placing flowers in a cemetery. I believe it was memorial day weekend (2010), since I think Uncle Justin was placing flags on graves in the cemetery. My brother, Greg Babcock, was serving in Afghanistan at the time and my mother was understandably concerned about his well being. After discussing my brother's situation for a while, Uncle Justin asked us to follow him down to the local VFW hall and when we got there he presented my mom with a blue star to hang in her window. My mother was so very touched by Uncle Justin's compassion. My mom didn't live to see her son return from oversees, but that blue star remained in her window to the day she died. Thank you Uncle Justin for making my mom so very happy!!
