Karen Elizabeth Mondrella's Obituary
Karen Elizabeth Walter Mondrella, 30, of Big Rapids, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2015. She leaves behind many family members and friends. Karen was born in Big Rapids on February 20, 1985. After graduating from Big Rapids High School in 2003, she completed the Ferris State University's Dental Hygiene Program in 2008, becoming a dental hygienist. Her bright smile matched her glowing and bubbly personality. One of Karen's major loves in life was animals. She loved animals of all kinds, sizes and shapes, and her main love was her basset hound Abby. She loved the outdoors including boating, kayaking, and skiing, but her main joy was spending time with her family and friends. Karen will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.??She was the kind of young woman that anyone would be proud to call wife, daughter, granddaughter, and friend. The Mass of Christian Burial for Karen will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 14, at St. Paul's Campus Parish in Big Rapids, with Father Michael Burt celebrant. Burial will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Big Rapids. Visitation times will be at the Mohnke Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 13, from 6-8 p.m., with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Karen's name to Mecosta County Animal Rescue Coalition, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
