Kathleen Ann Burdick's Obituary
Kathleen Ann Burdick, age 77, of Blanchard, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, joy, and community service. Born on June 3, 1947, in Greenville, Michigan, Kathy was the daughter of the late Donald and Vera (Outman) Bullard. Growing up in Greenville, she developed a passion for education that would shape her life and the lives of countless students.
Kathy attended Central Michigan University, where she graduated in 1969 with a degree in Education. She dedicated 25 years of her life to teaching middle school at Montabella Public Schools, where she inspired and nurtured the minds of her students with her unwavering dedication and kindness.
On June 15, 1968, Kathy married the love of her life, Loren Burdick, in Greenville, Michigan. Together, they built a beautiful life in Blanchard, where they raised their two beloved sons, Ross (Dawn) and Adam (Kanya). Kathy was a devoted grandmother to her cherished grandchildren, Jack, Jenna, and Ryan, whom she adored and spoiled, especially during the holiday season.
Kathy's warmth and generosity extended beyond her family. She served her community as a dedicated member of the Rolland Township Clerk's office and was a beloved figure in Blanchard. Her genuine spirit and infectious laughter could light up any room, and she formed deep connections with friends, enjoying weekly Tuesday Tacos and playing cards with her dear companions.
In her leisure time, Kathy found joy in playing the piano, and when their boys were younger, hosting family gatherings around the oversized swimming pool at her home-built with Loren in 1970-and embarking on family trips that created lasting memories. Her love of shopping, particularly during Christmas, was well known, as she sought to bring joy to those around her.
Kathy is survived by her husband Loren, sons Ross and Adam, grandchildren Jack, Jenna, and Ryan, and her sister Jo (Bullard) Werner. She was preceded in death by her brother, Steven (Sue) Bullard.
Kathy will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Kathy's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Blanchard Millpond Fund, reflecting her generous spirit and commitment to helping others.
A celebration of Kathy's life will be held at the Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore, Michigan on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM where family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable woman she was. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts, a shining example of love, laughter, and giving spirit. Her absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew and loved her. Family will greet friends on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 3:00 - 7:00 PM for a visitation and again on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
