Kathleen "Kaki" Jane Reynolds' Obituary
Edmore- Kathleen Jane (Hill) Reynolds, age 91, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2019 in her home on Derby Lake, Sidney, MI. Kathleen "Kaki", joined her husband of 72 years, Sy Reynolds, who passed away on May 28, 2019. Kaki was surrounded by her five children, Mary Ellen (Steve) Papes, Christine (John) Paris, Andrew (Christy) Reynolds, Amy (Vic) Reynolds-Herman, and Bennett (Linda Reynolds.
Sy and Kaki raised their five children on a farm just north of Six Lakes. They worked hard on the farm to support a busy, healthy family of seven.
Kaki could have coined the phrase "homemaker" because she built a home with her talent and drive. She laid out hundreds of huge, healthy farmers' meals, many meats and vegetables grown on the farm. Not only did she produce a massive garden, surrounded by zinnias, but for canning and freezing. She was frugal when clothing her five children, yet her kids wanted for nothing. This allowed her to donate to her favorite charities in later years.
As grandpa and grandma, Sy and Kaki have enjoyed many years on Derby Lake entertaining their 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. They were generous hosts to family and friends.
A private service will be held in Edmore followed by interment in Hillcrest Cemetery in Six Lakes.
Memorial contributions in Kaki's name may be made to Trinity Church Food Pantry at 415 N Mills St. Stanton, MI 48888.
