Kathleen "Kathy" Ann Grawburg's Obituary
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Kathleen Grawburg of Lakeview, Michigan. Kathleen departed from this world surrounded by the love of her family at the age of 78 on March 30, 2025. She grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Maurice and Catherine. Her life was a journey that involved a variety of jobs, homes, and pastimes. This included working in law enforcement in Leland, Michigan; a 25 year career working for Meijer, first in the executive office in Grand Rapids and later at the Newport Distribution Center; and working as a CASA volunteer for the Montcalm County Court. In Lakeview, Kathleen was a volunteer with the Tamarack District Library, and a spark plug behind the establishment of the Lakeview Area Veterans Monument. She loved to golf, fish, and read. She was 100% certain that her next adventure would be traveling to the pearly gates of Heaven. After moving to Lakeview 15 years ago, she quickly adapted to the community. She married John, whom she fondly called "my boyfriend," and with whom she had many happy outings and adventures. One of her favorite pastimes on the farm was spending time with animals, including her towering black Percheron, Mr. Big. She also loved the woods and spent many hours walking, and later riding with John and their dogs in the ATV. Kathleen was especially proud of her grandchildren and she was often found with John on various outings to watch them play football, ride at the rodeo, sing in church, present their baked goods at the annual 4-H auction, or just about anywhere they invited her. You could find Kathleen and John on a summer's day, fishing with Emmett and Suzanne, making memories, if not catching any fish.Kathleen leaves behind the love of her life, John Grawburg. While not having children of her own, she quickly adopted six grandchildren without too much question. She is survived by her husband and six grandchildren: Levi and Tucker Hubbard along with their parents, Joe and Rebecca; Amelia, Cora, Suzanne, and Emmett Grawburg, along with their parents, Lucas and Kadren; one brother, Phil (Peggy) of Oregon, and a host of nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her generosity, strength, and devotion to her family. A celebration of Kathleen's life will be held at Brigham Funeral Chapel on Friday, April 4 with visitation from 11:00-1:00, and service at 1:00 with a luncheon to follow at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the charity of your choice.
