Kathryn Elizabeth Conard's Obituary
Kathryn E. "Tillie" Conard, age 85, of Big Rapids passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012.
She was born January 2, 1927 in Big Rapids, the daughter of Harvey and Winnie (Grubbe) Otto, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1945. Tillie worked at Bowers Restaurant from 1945 to 1967, and from 1967 through 1987, she worked at Giant Supermarket as cashier and stock clerk. Tillie was an avid bowler dating back to 1958. On April 4, 1948, she married Alex "Pud" Conard, who preceded her in death in 1977.
Tillie is survived by five children, Teri (Larry) Kelsh, Joe, Debbie, Jeff (Julie) and Tony (Kim) Conard; her son-in-law Tom Everin; 12 grandchildren, Amy (Tony) Case, Holly (Josh) Haney, Kevin, Tim (Aimee) and Jared Kelsh, Mike (Ashley), Chad (Becky Sawielski), Carrie (Chris Reynolds) Everin, Sydney, Rachael, J.D. and Shannon Conard; 8 great grandchildren, Riley, Ava and Brogan Case, Mykenzi, Gavin and Addyson Haney, Aleigha Kelsh and Jax Everin; two sisters, Kaye (Sam) Hassen and Karolyn Otto; and several nieces and nephews. Tillie was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter Tami Everin, and four brothers, Keith, Ken, Kalvin and Karl Otto.
Funeral services for Tillie will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, with Pastor Ed Milam officiating. Burial will be in the Highland View Cemetery. Her family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 p.m., and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
