Kathryn Knight's Obituary
EDMORE: Katie Knight, age 100, formerly of Stanton, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, at Brigham Facilities in Vestaburg. She was born on August 26, 1924, in Greenville.Katie was raised in McBride and graduated with the McBride High School Class of 1941. On February 13, 1943, Katie married Percy Knight, the love of her life, with whom she spent 81 years. She worked at Federal Mogul, retiring in 1980. Through the years, Katie supported Percy in the family business, Knight Auto Sales, from 1944 until their retirement. Percy and Katie spent 40 years in Mesa, Arizona, and they made many life-long friends there.Katie loved music and was the organist at Frost Seventh Day Adventist Church for many years. She was an active member there, having run the Vacation Bible School for decades, and even mowed the grass at the church. She loved to serve the church family in many different ways. She will be remembered as a woman of faith and for her love of family, music and her Savior. She loved going to yard sales to pick up items to resell at her huge, annual barn sale, donating all the proceeds to her church.Katie is survived by her three sons, Rodney (Karen) Knight of College Place, Washington; Judson (Michelle) Knight of Stanton; and Lester (Cathy) Knight of Stanton. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Tracy, Kimberly, Justin and Scott, her sister-in-law Rebecca, and many nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy, her sisters-in-law Helen and Gladys, and brothers-in-law, Larry, Norval "Toad", Armor and George Knight.A memorial service for Katie will take place on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 2:00PM at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore. Family will greet friends at 1:00 PM until the time of service. Memorial gifts can be made with donations to Frost Seventh Day Adventist Church for their Vacation Bible School.
