Kelly Marie Sleeman's Obituary
Mecosta - Kelly Marie (Lake) Sleeman, 52, of Mecosta, passed away, Thursday, April 9, 2020, at her residence.
She was born January 23, 1968, in Big Rapids, the daughter of Loren and Joy (Higley) Lake, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1986. Kelly lived in Rodney most of her life before moving to Mecosta in 2008.
Kelly worked at Huntington Bank and then Big Rapids Farm and Garden for many years.
Kelly is survived by her husband James Sleeman of Mecosta; her three sisters, Lori (Leonard E.) Gray of Rodney, Lucinda (Mike) Maxwell of Clare, and her twin Karla Lake of Mecosta; her Mother-in-law Gloria Sleeman of Florida; nieces Samantha Gray (Matthew Gutherie) and family of Saint Louis, MI, Megan ( Sam) Howell of Fredericksberg, VA, Michelle ( Travis) Ludwig - and great niece Claire of Manistee, Lauren Gray of Rodney, and nephew Justin Gray of Mount Pleasant; her step-children, Jessica (David) Reed of Fremont, and Thomas DeVine of Louisville, KY; her brother and sisters-in-law, Missy Sleeman (Robin) of Florida, Lori Fullington of S. Carolina, and Bill Sleeman of Utah; aunts, Charlene Morningstar of Big Rapids and Ginger (Frank) Wilhelm of Portage, MI, and Carol (Walt) Howe of Morley; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Kelly was preceded in death by her parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, paternal uncles, and her father-in-law William Sleeman Sr.
Kelly cared for her twin sister Karla for many years and loved her deeply. Kelly had a love for pets, especially her very sweet dog Dixie who passed a few years back. Special Thanks to Karla's caregivers Karen, April, Kathy, and Jennifer for all their help during these trying times.
Due to public health concerns there will be no services at this time. Care and arrangements are entrusted to the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
