Kempeni Kay Zdunic's Obituary
Lakeview-Kempeni Kay (Crittenden) Zdunic, age 58, of Lakeview passed away at her home on Sunday, November 14, 2021. She was born in Lansing on November 13, 1963, to Kempton and Carol (Bailey) Crittenden. Kempeni was raised in the Lansing area where she attended public school, graduating in 1981. She continued her education at Lansing Community College where she earned her license as a certified nurses assistant. She was employed at various nursing homes and at Spectrum Health Kelsey Hospital during her career. Kempeni married the love of her life, Rickie Zdunic on September 13, 2014, at the Entrican Bible Church. She had a smile and laugh that were infectious, a great sense of humor, and loved spending time with her family and friends. Kempeni made spending time with her grandkids into an event. She enjoyed camping at Silver Lake, yard sales, bingo, crafts, antiques, playing Yahtzee, having fun, and just being happy which easily spread to everyone around her. Kempeni was selfless, often going above and beyond to ease someone's pain or help in their time of need, even if she was troubled herself. She was truly a living sunflower.
Kempeni will forever be missed, and is survived by her husband, Rickie Zdunic of Lakeview; children, Shanna (Chad) Davis, Josh (Carrie) Crittenden; bonus children, Rickie (Alyssa) Zdunic, Karen (Matt Edwards) Zdunic; grandchildren, Sean, Holly, Kyrie, Morgan, Connor, Alex; bonus grandchildren, Marceleno, Mila, Myha, Christiano, Amilliano, Destiny, Damian; great-grandchildren, TJ, Corbynn, Skylar, Lucas, Jackson, Samuel; mother, Carol Borring of Six Lakes; brothers, Bill Zeis of Six Lakes, Roger Darling of Adrian; mother-in-law, Karen May.
