Kenneth David Frost's Obituary
Edmore - Kenneth David Frost, age 77, of Blanchard, passed away Friday, December 6, 2019, with family by his side, at Schnepps Senior Care and Rehab in St. Louis, MI. Ken was born in Lakeview on August 17, 1942 the son of Wilson Otto and Nina K (Wilkinson) Frost. Ken was raised in Blanchard and graduated from Remus High School with the Class of 1960. He continued his education at Houghton Tech. Shortly after graduating from High School, Ken joined the Air Force serving two tours a total of eight years. He was an Airman First Class Fire Control Systems Mechanic handling electronics on planes in the Air Support Wing. He was stationed in England and enjoyed traveling through Europe mainly mentioning Germany to his family. Ken was also stationed in Kansas and Colorado.
Ken was employed by GTE Phone Company in Edmore, MI over 25 years retiring in Jan. 1994. He then continued his employment with Blanchard Phone Company, and The Links of Edmore (golf course). Ken and Patricia "Pat" Crosby met during an arranged date through a mutual friend while they were both employed for the phone company GTE in Edmore. They were married April 1973 at the Methodist Church in Edmore, MI starting what was to be 47 wonderful years together this April.
Ken enjoyed reading, wood working, golfing, bowling, tinkering, and collecting. He loved electronics and computers. Ken loved shopping at Menards and buying stuff at the thrift store in Blanchard. There were many jokes about the things Ken would buy that Pat would bring back and donate.
Ken will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and church family; his wife Patricia Frost of Blanchard; son Kenneth "Ken" Wilson Frost of Grand Rapids, daughter Jeannie "Jean" Frost of Grand Haven; two granddaughters Violet Frost and Vivian DeCamp; siblings Jerry (Frankie) Frost of Blanchard, Ardath (Chuck) Stadtfeld of Remus, and Rex (Sharon) Fountain of Blanchard; several brothers and sisters in laws and their spouses; and countless nieces and nephews whom he always made feel special.
Ken was preceded in death by his son Paul Charles Frost; his parents Wilson and Nina Frost; and his parents-in-law Marion and Dorothy Crosby.
A Celebration of Ken's Life will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Blanchard Wesleyan Church (542 Jackson Rd., Blanchard, MI 49310) with Pastor Al Petersen officiating. A luncheon at the church will be served immediately following the service. Those wishing to contribute in Ken's memory are asked to consider the National Kidney Foundation.
