Kenneth R Harkness' Obituary
Edmore-Kenneth R Harkness, age 93, of Edmore, passed away at Mission Point in Greenville on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. He was born in Edmore on June 28, 1928, to Mary (Allen) and Russell Harkness. Kenneth was raised in the Edmore area where he attended Edmore High School graduating in 1946. Upon graduation he proudly served in the Army from 1947-1948 during the Korean war. Arriving home Kenneth went on to Central Michigan University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business. He was employed by GE as an accountant, and Hitachi as a Quality Control Inspector retiring in 1991. Kenneth and Margaret Louise Wood met and dated in high school also at Central Michigan. They were married in the Edmore United Methodist Church on February 14, 1950. He enjoyed fixing stuff, carpentry, mechanic, loved tinkering with things, he would rather build then buy. He was handy, he could do most anything. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Edmore and GE golf club.
Kenneth is survived by his children, James (Brigida) Harkness of CA, Don Harkness of Blanchard, Jon Harkness of Edmore, Charles Harkness of Las Vegas NV.; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson, Brantley James Harkness; sister, Barbara (Michael) McHugh.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00am on Friday, March 18th, 2022, at the Faith United Methodist Church in Edmore with a visitation at 10:00am. The family will greet friends and family from 4pm-8pm on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore.
