Kenneth "Ken" Lee Johnston's Obituary
Lakeview-Kenneth "Ken" Lee Johnston, age 70, of Morley passed away at his home on Saturday, August 14, 2021. He was born in Lakeview on October 14, 1950. Ken was raised in the Morley area where he attended school, graduating with the class of 1968. He was employed by Ore-Ida and Spud-pak before spending more than 25 years with Sandy Land Farms. Ken married Carol Jean Granstrom in September of 1972. They spent 16 years together before her passing in 1988. He met Nicki Boerma in 2005 and they were married on August 8, 2008, in Sylvester. Ken loved spending time with his family, watching his grandchildren play sports, little league baseball, picking on Nicki and golfing. He was a kind man with a huge heart who never met a stranger and will be forever missed by everyone blessed to know him.
Ken is survived by his wife, Nicki of Morley; children, Shelby (Jim) Sheler of Carson City, Kelley (Todd) Reitzel of Canadian Lakes, Jason "Jake" (Jackie) Johnston of Lake Isabella; stepsons, John (Teresa O'Neil) Cassidy of Morley, Wayne (April) Cassidy of Cedar Springs; grandchildren, Cody Johnston, Kyler (Audrey) Ridgeway, Jacob (Devin Wood) Ridgeway, Ryan and Raychel Nielsen, Megan, Macy, Matt Johnston, Samuel, Andrew, Gabriel, Katelin and Finn Cassidy; 9 brothers and sisters; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Evelyn Stine and his first wife, Carol.
A funeral service for Ken will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview. The family will greet friends on Thursday, August 19 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the chapel.
