Kimberly Newland's Obituary
Lakeview - Kimberly Mae Newland, age 53, of Lakeview, unexpectedly passed away at Spectrum Health Kelsey Hospital on Monday, January 16, 2017. Kimberly was born on March 2, 1963 in Flint, MI, the daughter of Daniel Patrick and Virgie Charlene (Jones) Mahoney. She was raised in Flint, Michigan and Halma, Minnesota. Kim graduated from Ainsworth High School, Class of 1981. She continued her education at Davenport University in Lansing, completing her degree in 1987. On October 1, 1999, Kim married Corey Newland in Edmore, MI. Kim enjoyed crafting, reading, scrapbooking. She loved her family, and helping others. She was an active member of Lakeview Baptist Church where she assisted as a church secretary.
Kimberly will be deeply missed by her husband of 17 years, Corey Newland of Lakeview; children Jessica Netterlund of Lakeview, Katie (Mike) O'Connor of Charlotte, Ashley (Matt) Ecker of Lakeview, and Jon Newland of Lakeview; grandchildren Riley, Gracie, Savannah, Kaden, Bentley, Lilly, and Landen; siblings, Thelma, Debra, Houston, Daniel, Tammy, Gary, Patricia, Timothy, Jerry, Thomas, Bernadette, Otto, and all their spouses; countless nieces, nephews, friends, and church family.
Kimberly was preceded in death by her mother Virgie Brown, and father Daniel (Jessie) Mahoney.
Funeral services for Kimberly will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 11:00 am at Lakeview Baptist Church with Pastor Zane Abberger officiating. The family will be accepting friends for visitation one hour prior the service. A luncheon at the church will follow graveside services in Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Kim's memory may be made to her husband Corey Newland.
