Lace Wiley Jr. of Logan, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, at the age of 97. Born on August 3, 1928, in the heart of Logan, he lived a life defined by hard work, family, and a dedication to those he loved. A skilled Tool Dye Journeyman at Ford Motors, Lace exemplified the values of diligence and craftsmanship throughout his working years. Family meant everything to Lace. He is survived by his beloved children: Lace Wiley III, Normilda (Douglas) Carrier, and Jeniffer Wiley (William VanOrden), who will always cherish the unconditional love he provided. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and connection, embodied by his grandchildren Stephanie, Audrey, Kristen, Roger Jr, Brian, Chris, Annalisa, and Sean, who filled his life with joy. Lace also shared a special bond with his brother, Orville (Pearl) Wiley, who survives him. Lace is also survived by several great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. A man of many passions, Lace took delight in the simple pleasures of life. He loved to spend his time gardening, hunting, and fishing, appreciating nature's beauty. His family gatherings were filled with laughter and love, as were the moments he spent riding his four-wheeler. Whether it was watching cartoons or cheering for his favorite baseball team, Lace had a way of savoring life's small joys, always with a bright smile. Lace was also known for his kind-heartedness, often putting the needs of others before his own. His gentle spirit resonated with those who knew him, especially his beloved cat, Blacky, with whom he shared a deep companionship. Lace's life will be celebrated at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Lakeview, with a public viewing taking place at 10:00 AM on May 30, 2026. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, leading into a graveside service at Decker Cemetery at 12:00 PM. A reception will be held at the funeral home at 1:30 PM, allowing family and friends to gather in remembrance and love for a man who touched so many lives. Though he has departed from this world, Lace Wiley Jr.'s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him, and his legacy of hard work, love, and generosity will continue to inspire every life he has touched. Lace was preceded in death by his spouse, Norma Wiley, parents, Lace Wiley Sr and Armilda Wiley, and children, Ruby Wiley, Daniel Wiley, Roger Wiley. Along with several brother and sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to assist with funeral expenses.
