Lane Russell Gomber's Obituary
Lane Russell Gomber, 50, of Sherwood, MI, formerly of Mecosta, MI, passed away on January 21, 2025, at his residence. He was born on March 15, 1974, in Big Rapids, the son of Lane Gomber and Shania (Boerma) Wilson, and graduated from Chippewa Hills High School in 1992. Lane dedicated nearly 15 years to Evart Products before spending the last five years as an Industrial Painter at Arcosa Inc. in Union City, MI.
Lane was a true outdoorsman, finding joy in fishing, four-wheeling, and spending time immersed in nature. A lover of music and laughter, Lane brought energy and light to every gathering. Above all, he cherished his family, creating memories filled with love and laughter that will forever remain in their hearts.
Lane is survived by his children, Meghan (Zach) Tucker of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Kaitlon (Jackson) Cain of Woodburn, Kentucky, Lane (Bailee) Gomber of Scottsville, Kentucky, and Laneya Crawford of Reed City; seven grandchildren, Marshall, Maggie, Mollie, Maren, Eloise, Walter, and Walker. Lane is also survived by his loving mother and stepfather, Shania (Paul) Wilson of Rodney; his brother, Randy (Melissa) Gomber of Mecosta; his nieces, Cassidy and Hayley; and two stepsiblings, Tonya and Joshua.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lane J. Gomber, in 1989.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Mohnke Janowicz Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Lane’s family will greet friends beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday. His remains will be laid to rest by his fathers at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Mecosta. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
