Larry Basil Brigham's Obituary
Lakeview, MI -Larry Basil Brigham, age 82, of Greenville passed away at Laurels of Kent in Lowell on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. He was born on February 10, 1941, to George and Myrtle (Reed) Brigham, in Cadillac, MI where he was raised and attended school.Larry served honorably in the United States Army from 1958-1966. During that time, he spent time in Germany, Italy and France and attained the rank of Spec. 4. After moving back stateside, Larry ran the Boys Club of America in Columbia, SC, was the plant manager of Triad Packaging in Hickory, NC and later worked at the hospital in Carson City Michigan. Larry was then employed by the State of Michigan as a corrections officer at the Michigan Reformatory for over 25 years.He loved playing golf, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, swimming, reading, dancing, watching any and all western shows or movies, playing pool, tennis, cards and board games. He was also a ping pong aficionado. What Larry loved best was getting to be with loved ones, family and friends, and having the best time.Larry is survived by his brother Dan (& wife Yvonne) Brigham and daughter, Mary (& son-in-law Lance) Terry of Hickory, NC, three grandchildren, Larry "Trey" Brigham, III of Bluffton, SC, Joseph Daniel Brigham, and John Foster Terry, both of Hickory, NC. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He loved them all.He was preceded in death by his his son Larry Basil Brigham, Jr. of Newton, NC; parents, George and Myrtle; and siblings, George, Bill, Jack, Juelous and Donna.A celebration of Larry's life will be scheduled for a date in the Spring.
