Lauren KayLeen Marie VanAlstine's Obituary
Lauren KayLeen Marie VanAlstine, 33, of Big Rapids, passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2026. She was born on June 17, 1992, in Big Rapids, the daughter of Timothy and Pamela (McGuire) VanAlstine.
Lauren was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend. Family meant everything to her, and she cherished the time she spent with those she loved. She enjoyed the outdoors and found happiness in nature’s beauty. Known for her generous spirit, Lauren would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She had a remarkable ability to make people laugh and brought joy to those around her with her silly, sassy, and sometimes stubborn personality. Her beautiful smile, kind heart, and caring nature will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Lauren is survived by her children, Riley, Logan, and Charlotte Hutchinson; her parents, Timothy and Pamela VanAlstine of Hersey; her siblings, Lucas VanAlstine, Levi VanAlstine, Lacey (Michael) Green, Keaton Zuern, Harley (Grant) Shehan, and Sierra Zuern; her grandparents, Shawn McGuire, Barbara Caddo, Roselea Zuern, and Ronald (Glenda) Zuern; her great-grandmother, Maxine VanAlstine; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her biological father, Ronald W. “Butch” Zuern; her maternal grandmother, Jacalyn K. Jensen; her maternal grandfather, David A. McGuire; and her paternal grandfather, Larry R. VanAlstine.
Lauren’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her love, laughter, and generous spirit will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
A Celebration of Lauren’s life will be held from 3-6 p.m., Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the Grant Center Township Hall.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with final expenses. Care and arrangements are entrusted to Mohnke Janowicz Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
