Lawrence Stanley Kotecki's Obituary
Big Rapids -Lawrence Stanley Kotecki, 74, of Big Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. He was born on July 22, 1940 in Ludington, the son of Stanley and Gertrude (Bruesch) Kotecki. He lived in the Muskegon area most of his life. After graduating from Muskegon Catholic Central he served in the Army National Guard. On June 22, 1963 he married the love of life, Judy Gillard. Together they raised four children. Larry worked as a skilled machinist until he retired and moved to Big Rapids. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved to play cribbage. He was known for his incredible and funny stories of life and growing up with his amusing family and friends. He will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his wife Judy on March 2, 2002. He is survived by his daughters, Terri (Ray) Peterson, Pat Muskovin, Lynda (Scott) Madariaga, and son, Phillip (Kelly) Kotecki; eight grandchildren, Jeff, Eric, Kirstin, Chris, Kelly, Paige, Antonio, and Blake; brothers, Ralph (Judy) Kotecki, Dennis Kotecki; one sister, Annette (Ron) Krehn; as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spring Lake. A celebration of Larry's life will be 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at his brother, Ralph's, home 3408 E Ellis Rd, Muskegon, MI 49444. In Lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to Larry's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
