Lawrence Howard "Larry" Schuberg's Obituary
Hersey - Lawrence Howard "Larry" Schuberg, 47, of Hersey, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023.
He was born September 30, 1976, in Big Rapids, the son of Terry and Sue (Bonner) Schuberg, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1995. Larry then started his career as an Apprentice Lineman with the I.B.E.W. Local #876, working up to become a Journeyman Lineman. Larry currently worked as a Superintendent for M.J. Electric.
Larry was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Always involved in his son's activities, he coached Rocket Football, and also coached the travelling baseball team known as the B.N. Bears. Larry also loved to cook, but for your own good you didn't watch him in the kitchen!
On July 9, 2005, Larry married Lisa DePew, who survives. Also surviving are their two sons, Caiden "Earl" and Cooper; his sisters Holly (Michael) Bartlett of Tinley Park, IL, and Paula Schuberg of Grand Rapids; his brothers TJ (Lisa) Schuberg, and Michael (Jennifer) Schuberg of Big Rapids; his brothers-in-law David (Ana) DePew of Bellaire, and Jeff (Alisa) DePew of Livingston, MT; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Larry was preceded in death by his mother in 2009 and his father in 2018.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 14, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Big Rapids, with Father Dan DePew officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Plains Cemetery in Colfax Township. Larry's family will greet friends at St. Mary's from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13, and beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions in his name may be made for Big Rapids High School Football and Baseball programs. Care and arrangements are entrusted to the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
