Lena C. Bennett's Obituary
Lena C. Bennett, age 88, passed away at the Laurels of Fulton in Perrinton, Michigan, on February 5, 2015. Lena was born the daughter of Fredrick and Berdella (Whitten) Isham on February 20, 1926 in Pewamo, Michigan. She was united in marriage to James Bennett on April 16, 1943 in Leslie, Michigan.
Lena worked several years at the Bomber Plant in Greenville. She also worked at HiQ in Lakeview where she ended up retiring from many years later. Lena enjoyed cooking, sewing and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Lena is survived by her children; Sharon (Lee) Jackson of Scott City, Kansas, Kathy (Kenneth) Hancock and Jeanie (Paul) Nisonger, both of Stanton, Michigan, 14 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
Lena was preceded in death by her husband, James in 1995; daughter and son in-law, Linda and Howard Cowling; grandson, Fredrick Bennett; brothers and sister in-laws: Lawson (Ida) Isham, Vedell (Alice) Isham and Fredrick (Lillian) Isham.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Monday February 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore, Michigan with Reverend Brian Wickes officiating. A visitation will also take place Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in the McBride Cemetery.
