Lennie Rai Cote's Obituary
Hersey - Lennie Rai Cote, age 60, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017, at home surrounded by family, from a sudden illness. He was born August 5, 1957, the son of Loren Cote and Gloria (Guldner) (Cote) Zimmerman, in Pontiac, MI. Lennie married Barbara Canaan on June 6, 1986. He worked at Burlington Northern Railroad, Michigan Knife, Kalium Chemicals, and Evart Products/Textron. Lennie loved Harley Davidsons, hunting, fishing, and especially, his family and grandchildren. He loved to teach his kids, grandkids, family, friends and acquaintances how to hunt and fish. He was happiest when others around him had a successful hunt or caught a fish! Best net man ever! He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter Amber (Justin) Jackson of Paris, sons Lennie II (Heather) of Omaha, NE, Canaan Lentz (Rebekah) Garner of North Carolina, and Nicholas Lloyd of Evart, Michigan; stepson Michael Cox of Underwood, IA; grandchildren Jackson, Elijah, and Canaan Cote, Arielle and Rory Jackson, and Rose Mila Queen; parents Loren and May Cote of Reed City; brother Loren "Bud" of Saluta, SC, sister Charlene (Dennis) Reinsch of Hot Springs Village, AK, and brother Mark (Margaret) Artman of Chase, MI; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and his beloved dog Freckles. Lennie was preceded in death by his brother Mike Artman in 1982, mother Gloria (Gulder) Zimmerman in 1993, and sister, Linda Bullock in 2010. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Dr. William Scott and all of the caregivers from Spectrum Health Hospice for their care, compassion and dedication to Lennie and his family's comfort. A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE ON SEPTEMBER 2, 2017 AT 11:00 A.M. AT THE MOHNKE FUNERAL HOME. HIS FAMILY WILL GREET FRIENDS AT 10:00 AM UNTIL THE SERVICE. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in honor of Lennie R. Cote to the Michigan United Conservation Club Youth Program at www.mucc.org or the Hersey Park, Hersey, Michigan.
