Leo "Bing" Julius Hansen's Obituary
Leo "Bing" Julius Hansen age 92 passed away May 15, 2016 in Alma, Michigan. Leo was born May 05, 1924 in Stanton, Michigan the son of Peter and Hazel (Finkhouse) Hansen. He graduated in 1941 from McBride, Michigan. Bing proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. He was united in marriage to the former Dolores Jorgensen on June 21, 1945 in Junction City, Kansas. Bing worked for the United States Postal Service for 33 years until his retirement. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, fishing, gardening and watching any kind of ballgame. Bing will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Bing is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Dolores, children; Randy L. (Jackie) Hansen of Reed City, MI, Bradley J. (Nancy) Hansen of Goodyear, AZ and Douglas L. (Colleen) Hansen of Howell, MI, 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters; Aletha Marquette of Lansing, MI and Donna Edwards (Howard) of Stanton, MI and several nieces and nephews. Bing was preceded in death by his parents, son; Chris Hansen, great-granddaughter; Taryn Murphy and 3 brothers; Orville, Ed and Frank.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 11:00AM at Brigham Funeral Chapel-Edmore with Reverend Mike Riegler to officiate. Interment to follow in Vinewood Cemetery, Edmore, MI with Full Military Honors. Visitation will take place Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 5:00-8:00PM at Brigham Funeral Chapel-Edmore. Those wishing to do a memorial contribution are asked to consider the VFW Post 2292, Edmore, MI.
