Lewis K. Johnston's Obituary
Lewis K. Johnston, age 69, of Stanton, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Fred and Lena Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Lewis was born April 23, 1947 in Six Lakes, MI, the son of Glen and Leona Genevive (Kirby) Johnston. He was raised in Stanton on the family farm. Lewis attended Central Montcalm High School Graduating Class of 1966. He furthered his education while he was employed by Hitachi in Edmore. Lewis was employed as a Journeyman Electrician and Machine Repairman for over 33 years until his retirement in 2003. Lewis had many hobbies including hunting, fishing, farming, working on heavy equipment, gardening, roller-skating, dancing, and he loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the American Legion in Stanton.
Lewis will be deeply missed by five children Terry Lee Johnston of Cedar Springs, William Glen Johnston of Stanton, Laura Jean Johnston and Corey Parks of McBride, Lewis (Bam) K. Johnston Jr. and Mari Snyder of McBride, and Lydia Jane and Patrick Ryckman of Vestaburg; two grandchildren Samuel and Lucas Ryckman; three siblings Merle Glen Johnston of Stanton, Barbara Jean and Robert Belman of Alaska, and Michael D. and De Johnston of Stanton; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents Glen and Leona Johnston; one brother Martin Wayne Johnston; and one sister-in-law Linda Doreene Johnston.
Funeral services for Lewis will be held Monday, April 3, 2017 at 12:00 pm at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore, MI. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place immediately following the service at McBride Cemetery.
