Linda Sue (Johnson) Flachs Caswell's Obituary
Linda Sue (Johnson) Flachs Caswell, age 74, of Six Lakes, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Linda was born July 20, 1941 in Six Lakes, the daughter of Grover Cleveland and Grace May (Shambaugh) Johnson. She was raised in Six Lakes and graduated from Lakeview High School, Class of 1959.
Linda was employed as a Teachers Aid for Six Lakes Elementary School for several years, and then she worked for Kelsey Hospital in Medical Records for over nineteen years until her retirement in 1999. Linda married her first husband, Jack Gale Flachs in 1960. Jack passed away in 1991. She then met Edward Lee Caswell and they were married July 7, 1999, in Traverse City.
Linda enjoyed riding motorcycles, Bingo, the bowling league, and snow mobiles. She was a member of the Michigan Road Riders, and the Eastern Stars of Six Lakes.
Linda will be missed by her husband Edward Lee Caswell of Six Lakes; daughters Pamela Sue (Dale) Moore of Edmore, and Nancy Anne McKay of Greenville; grandchildren Cristopher, Timothy, Andrew, Alicia (JD), Brandon, and Cody; one great-granddaughter Avery; brother Vernon C (Choco) Johnson of Palos Verdes, California; sister Ilene Green of Lakeview; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband Jack Flachs; parents Grover and Grace Johnson; brother Roland (Marjorie) Johnson of Six Lakes; and sister Virginia (Charles) Raymond of Six Lakes.
Funeral services for Linda will be Monday, November 23, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Six Lakes, Michigan with Reverend Jeff Lemire Jr. officiating. Visitation hours for Linda will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. A luncheon at Six Lakes VFW Post will follow the graveside service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Six Lakes. Memorial Contributions in Linda's memory can be made to either the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
