Linda Marvene Cole's Obituary
Linda Marvene Cole, age 70, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home, early on Saturday, October 12, 2019. Her husband Al, as always, was faithfully by her side. She was preceeded in death by her sister, Lu Ann Chipman, and her father, Lewis Chipman. Linda was born in Grand Rapids, MI, to Lewis and Eleanor Chipman on August 14, 1949. When she was 11 years old, Linda met her best friend's brother, Alan. As time went on, and they spent more time together, Al became her best friend, and they fell in love and were married on May 28, 1966. Al and Linda welcomed their first son in 1967, and he was quickly joined by three brothers. Throughout their life together, Al and Lin enjoyed camping, riding motorcycles and traveling to Mackinac Island for anniversary trips. Linda enjoyed (and was known for) cooking good food, baking her famous Jello poke cake, angel food cake, and chocolate chip cookies, sewing, crafting, shopping for great bargains and spending time laughing and visiting with her family and friends. She was delighted to become a grandmother and then a great grandmother... she spoiled her grands as often as possible, even the grownup ones! Linda will be missed greatly, but will always be remembered for her beautiful blue eyes, her sweet smile, her love of laughter and fun, her generous heart, and her faith in her god, Jehovah, and His promises for a beautiful, happy future. Linda is survived by her husband, Al; their sons, Travis (Jennifer), Alan (Tamara), Shane (Kimberly), and Shawn (Julie); grandchildren, Hannah (Brian), Elijah, and James; two beautiful great-granddaughters; her loving mother, Eleanor "Tut" Kohut; sister, Cindi (Bob) Miller; brother, Steve Caldwell; her many brother- and sisters-in-law; and cherished nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held for Linda at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Plainfield Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
