Linda Elaine Sackett's Obituary
Edmore- Linda Elaine Sackett, 77, of Edmore passed away at her home on August 23, 2020 with her family at her side.
Linda was born on December 15, 1942 in Lansing Michigan, the daughter of Frank and Erma (Rockafellow) Sawdy II.
Linda was raised in the Stanton area, and attended Stanton High School. She graduated with the class of 1961.
On June 22, 1963 Linda married Stuart Nathan Sackett, the love of her life for more than 57 years. She was a life long member at the McBride Church of Christ in McBride, Michigan.
Linda and husband Stuart were the owners of The Sackett Acres Potato Farm in Edmore, Michigan. Stuart said that Linda was the best truck driver on the family farm!
Her many hobbies include gardening, canning, camping, working in her flower gardens, painting, art, spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren, celebrating and cooking during the holidays with her family.
Linda is survived by her husband, Stuart; daughters, Beth (Scott) Parker of Stanton, Sherry (Seymore) Race of Sheridan; son, Troy (Lisa) Sackett of Stanton; 7 grandchildren, Elizabeth (Ben) Wickherham of Flushing, Alyssa (Jason) Howard of Blanchard, Chauncey (Maria) Parker of Stanton, David Dew of Sheridan, Quinten (Haley) Sackett of St. Johns, Andria Getts (Steven Vanderhurst) of Ionia, Logan Sackett of Allendale; great grandchildren, Augustas, Wren, Remmington, Kimber, Myla, Briley, Jorgen, Thea, Hank, and Oliver; 3 sisters, Nancy (Walter) Bannen of Lakeview, Suzanne (Jim) Ruschewicz of Howard City, Marcia (Daniel) Benner of Sidney; 2 Brothers, Frank III (Judy) Sawdy of Stanton, Danny (Carol) Sawdy of Sheridan; Sister and Brother in law, Sue (Jack) Richards of Mt. Pleasant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Sawdy II and Erma Carlson.
Private Family Services will be held for Linda on Saturday August 29, 2020 at 11:00AM at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore with Pastor Steve Dobyns officiating. Visitations are Friday August 28, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Edmore funeral Chapel. In Lieu of flowers please make contributions to MidMichigan Home Care Hospice, 555 W Wackerly Rd., Suite 3626, Midland, MI 48640 or McBride Church of Christ, 4368 Division, McBride, MI 48852 . Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home. There will be a luncheon after the service at McBride Park.
