Lonnie Alan VanPatten's Obituary
Lakeview-Lonnie Alan VanPatten, age 77, of Atlanta, Michigan, formerly of Six Lakes peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at his home. He was born on July 26, 1945, the son of Herbert and Wanita (Sproul) VanPatten, in Lansing, where he was raised and attended Everett High School. Lonnie married the love of his life, Diane M. McKimmy on July 23, 1966, in Lansing. He was self employed as a carpet Installer, subcontracting with Six Lakes Hardware for 30 years and by Montcalm County as a maintenance repairman for 10 years. Lonnie was a talented woodworker, who loved spending time with his family, especially when hunting, fishing, camping and being outdoors. Lonnie is survived by his wife, Diane of Atlanta; daughter, Amy Jo (Mark) Van Schagen of Stanton; son, Timothy (Shellie) VanPatten of Six Lakes; 6 grandchildren, Nicole, Amber, Tiffany, Heather, Hona, Shane; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Linda VanPatten of Charlotte, Becki Dodge of Lansing; nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard VanPatten in 2013; his parents, Herbert and Wanita; and sister, Shirley Garcia. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview with Pastor Bill VanPatten officiating.
