Loretta Joyce Ward's Obituary
Hersey-Loretta J. Ward, 82, of Hersey, went to be with her Lord on March 29, 2014. She was born on July 9, 1931 in Garret, Indiana, the daughter of Forrest D. and Ella (Ross) Balliet. Loretta graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1949. She married Avery Ward on December 20, 1952. Loretta worked for many years at the Wolverine Glove Factory in Reed City. She was an avid bowler. She is survived by one daughter, Vicki Flagg; three sons, Greg (Tina) Ward, Brent Ward, and Randy Ward; four grandsons, John C. (Mariello) Trumble, Cary Flagg, Clifford Ward, and Avery Ward; five great grandchildren, Sierra, Shyann, Savannah, and Serentiy Flagg and John M. Trumble. Also surviving are four brothers, Wayne (Shirley) Balliet, Kent (Judy) Balliet, Jack (Elizabeth) Balliet, and Gary (Yvonne) Balliet, plus several nieces and nephews. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Avery, in 2007, and one sister Judy Strassuer. A memorial service for Loretta will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Ed Milam officiating. Her family will greet friends and relatives beginning at 10:00 am.
