Lorston "Mike" Peterman's Obituary
Lakeview- Lorston "Mike" Peterman, age 92, of Belding passed away on January 20, 2020 at Metron of Belding. He was born in Sheridan on January 26, 1927, the son of Chester and Zella Peterman. Mike was raised in Sheridan, where he attended country school. He was employed by Consumers Power, and then AO Smith, which became General Tire in Ionia for over 30 years until his retirement in 1985. Mike married Ruth Mills in Arizona in the late 70's and they spent over 20 years together until her passing in 1999. Mike was a huge Tigers fan, who enjoyed camping, skiing, boating, pontooning, Nascar, racing go carts, tinkering, and traveling the world, which included trips to Europe and Alaska.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Cristie (Rick Newberg) Hardy of Greenville; granddaughter Michelle Sage of Laingsburg, and Rodney Sage of Greenville; great-granddaughter, Hallie Sage; the mother of his children, Marilyn Fox; and many nieces, nephews.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughters, Leeann and Lori Peterman; his wife, Ruth Peterman; his parents, Chester and Zella; his siblings and their spouses, Gernard (Mary Jane) Peterman, Bob Peterman, Derward (Rhea) Peterman, Brownie Thayer, Audrey St. Peters, and Vernidean (Red) Henry.
Funeral Services for Mike will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview with Pastor John Martin officiating. Interment will follow at the Village of Lakeview Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:30 AM until time of service.
