Lula P. (Farnam) Draper's Obituary
Big Rapids Lula P. (Farnam) Draper, 96, of Big Rapids, passed away Wednesday, April, at Mecosta County Medical Center after a full life, living well and living for her Lord and Savior. Lula was born February 15, 1912, in Louisville, KY, the daughter of James and Mary (Roy) Combest, and moved to Big Rapids as a young woman, where she had lived since. She was a longtime member of the Big Rapids Assembly of God Church. Lula was preceded in death by her first husband, Hollie Farnam, in 1973, and her second husband, Richard Draper, in 1980. Surviving are one daughter, Darlene Falatic of Indiana; 1 granddaughter Suzette Conners of Indiana; 2 sisters, Lela Hurless of Big Rapids, and Mary Hutchings of Georgia; 1 brother Leonard Combest of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. Lula was also preceded in death by a daughter Arlene Farnam in 1944, and a daughter Marilyn Conners in 2005. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2008, at the Big Rapids Assembly of God, with Pastor Kevin Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland View Cemetery. Memorial contributions for her church may be left at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, where Lulas family will greet friends today (Friday) from 6-8 p.m., and at the church prior to services on Saturday.
