Lyle LaVerne Kimball's Obituary
Edmore-Lyle LaVerne Kimball, age 88, of Six Lakes passed away at Mid-Michigan Medical Center Gratiot in Alma on Friday, June 18, 2021. He was born in rural Blanchard on February 27, 1933, the son of Harvey and Alma (Decker) Kimball. Lyle was raised in Blanchard and attended Remus High School, graduating with the class of 1952. He served his country honorably in the United States Army as an ambulance driver from 1951-1953. Lyle was employed by Gibson for a total of 42 years, being allowed to retain his seniority while serving in the Army, retiring in 1992. He married the love of his life, June Marie Eckert-Lemire, on July 22, 1956, in Ludington. Lyle immediately assumed the role of fatherhood to 3 small children and thereafter a 4th child. Lyle loved God, his family, his church, and his dog Spunky. He was a gentle and generous man willing to help anyone wherever needed. He enjoyed serving his church by mowing the lawn, and loved to eat out, especially breakfast at Leona's Restaurant. Lyle was an active member of the Six Lakes Bible Missionary Church. During his final day he became very thankful for "facetime", so he could see his grandchildren and have time with his family. He will forever be missed.
Lyle is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, June; children, Jonathan (Darla) Kimball of Jennings, LA, Terri (Carlos) Melendez of Six Lakes, Jeffery (Victoria) Lemire of Six Lakes, Lynne (Dewey) Murray of Six Lakes; grandchildren, Benjamin (Esther) Kimball, Melissa (Josh) Warner, Danae Kimball, Katelyn Kimball, Kristina (Lynn) Maggert, Harmoni Holmes, Heidi (Nathan) Easley, Zachary (Heather) Holmes, Jeffery (Ramona) Lemire Jr., Andrea (Matthew) Lupo, Leo Joseph (Stephanie) Lemire II, Nancy (Nate) Dishong, Matthew (Melissa) Murray, Patrick (Alana) Murray, Leighton (Jill) Murray, Lestie (Katiso) Mofokeng; great-grandchildren, Austine, Dawson, Isla, Miles, Zachary, Silas, Ellie, Landon, Levi, Emmett, Zach, Jackson, Abigail, Gavin, Alex, Jeffery Lemire III, David, Jaqueline, Alma, Courtney, Lane, Jasmin, Noah, Mahlah, Bethany, Blake, Brady, Brennan, Allyson, Khensiani, Natasha, Brooklyn; great-great-grandchildren, Judah, Alexis, Kaitlyn, Caleb, Julianna, Emeric, Ezra, Calen, Colton; and a brother, Clyde (Esther) Kimball of Clarksville.
