Mabel B. Crooks' Obituary
Mabel B. Crooks age 94, passed away peacefully in the arms of Jesus with her twin sister at her side on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Grand Rapids, MI. Mabel was born September 21, 1921 in Entrican, MI the daughter of Thorkild and Laura (Larsen) Christensen. Following High School she attended Chicago Evangelistic Institute. She then went on to work in Washington State with a boy's home. Mabel returned to Michigan and worked for Lakeview Medical Center until her retirement. She was united in marriage to Charles T. Crooks in 1976. Mabel was a longtime member of the Entrican Bible Church. She enjoyed reading, visiting older folks with her husband and in her younger years helping with Sunday school and was very involved with church activities.
Mabel is survived by her step-children; Norman (Diana) Crooks of Edmore and Margaret (Dave) Clark of Holland, grandchildren; Roger (June) Webb, Rodney (Linda) Webb, Ronald Webb, Robert (Donna) Webb, John (Mary Ann) Crooks, Steve (Sheila) Crooks and Ann Cooper, 2 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, twin sister; Myrle Sagendorf of Edmore and Ardith Lavender of FL, sister in-law; Geraldine Christensen of Stanton and many nieces and nephews. Mabel was preceded in death by her husband Charles T. Crooks on February 1, 1994, a brother; Leroy Christensen and sister; Lucille Thompson.
Funeral Services for Mabel will take place Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 1:00 PM from Entrican Bible Church, 3899 N. Grow Rd, Stanton, MI 48888 with Reverend Eugene Kooi to officiate. Interment will be in McBride Cemetery. Visitation will also take place Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Entrican Bible Church from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM. Those planning a memorial contribution are asked to consider Entrican Bible Church.
