Obituary
Edmore - Mable May (Martin) Capen, age 92, of Blanchard, passed away on February 4, 2018. Mable was born on August 13, 1925 in Blanchard, the daughter of Ira and Barbara Ellen (Stamm) Martin. She was raised in Blanchard. On July 16, 1946, Mable married Leonard Capen in Stanton, MI. Mable was employed by the pickle plant in Edmore over 16 years and farmed the family farm in Blanchard. She enjoyed fishing, farming, and raising animals. She especially loved spending time with her many grandchildren and family.
Mable will be missed by one son Alfred Capen; eleven grandchildren Phillip Brown Jr., Roger Brown, Scott Brown, Jeremy Capen, Larry Capen, Jennifer Moore, Adam Capen, Chad Foster, Michael Foster, Marvin Foster, and Candee Foster-Hollingsworth; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mable was preceded in death by her husband of many years Leonard Capen; children Linda Brown, Larry Capen, Marvin Capen, and one infant son James Capen.
A Celebration of Mable's life will take place on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore, MI. The family will accept friends for visitation on Thursday starting at 2:00 PM. Condolences to the family may be made utilizing the guestbook at www.brighamfuneralchapel.com
