Obituary
Lakeview - Maralyn "Mari" E. Harris, age 69, of Howard City, Michigan, passed away Friday, August 12, 2022, at Altercare of Big Rapids. Mari was born on September 23, 1952in Greenville, MI, the daughter of Kenneth and Ruth (Dennis) Harris. She was raised in Langston and attended Lakeview High School. She continued her education at Montcalm Community College for cosmetology. Mari was employed in security for Meijer's for 30 years until her retirement in 2015. She enjoyed flowers, working in her flower gardens, cooking, baking, and spending time with family and friends.
Mari will be missed by three daughters Kammi (Senter Deacey) Helsel of Big Rapids, Kelli (Matt) Schievink of Lakeview, and Casi (Ronald) Overla of Howard City; twelve grandchildren Tyler, Stormi, Jessica, Tayler, Hunter, Ally, Kiara, Brooke, Trent, Gracie, Jack, Catelyn; nine great-grandchildren; two siblings, Debra "Deb" (Jeff) Davis of Lakeview, and Biff (Karen) Harris of Morley; and several nieces and nephews.
Mari was preceded in death by her son, Curtis Ackley in 2000; two grandsons, Jeffrey Beemer in 1995, and Jacob Beemer in 1994; one great-granddaughter, Rylee Hoover in 2017; parents Kenneth and Ruth Harris; four siblings, Shirley Fisher, Dale Harris, and Danny Harris, and infant sister Charlotte.
A visitation celebrating Mari's life will be held Friday, August 19, 2022, from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, MI. Those wishing to make a contribution in Mari's memory are asked to consider the needs of the family.
