Marc A. Bruno's Obituary
Big Rapids Marc A. Bruno, 55, of Big Rapids, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at Spectrum Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids. He was born January 21, 1953, in Flint, the son of Gene and Lillian (Carlson) Bruno, and graduated from Flint Central High School in 1971. Following graduation, Marc moved to this area, and was an officer for the Big Rapids Police Department for 16 years, where he also worked with the K-9 Unit. He then worked as an officer for the Cedar Springs Police Department for nearly 10 years until retiring. Marc was a member of the Isabella County Sportsman Club, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. On September 15, 1979, he married Lori K. Alt, who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Angela Bruno of Columbia, MO, Jennifer Bruno of Big Rapids; 2 brothers-in-law, David (Cheryl) Alt of Independence, KS, Michael Alt of Jackson; 1 sister-in-law, Dianne (Mark) Bartus of Jackson; and 4 nieces and 1 grandniece. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, with Rev. John Bookshaw officiating. Burial will be in the Crestwood Memorial Cemetery in Grand Blanc. Memorial contributions in his name for the DeVos Childrens Hospital Cancer Unit may be left at the funeral home, where his family will greet friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and prior to services on Saturday.
