Marcia K. Galbraith's Obituary
Marcia K. Galbraith, age 74, of Stanwood, MI, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 25, 2026. She was born March 31, 1952, in Lansing, MI, the daughter of Kenneth and Aura Lucille (Jaquette) Babbitt.
Marcia dedicated much of her working life to caring for others. She began her career as a nurse’s aide, then the birthing center and lastly in medical supplies at the Big Rapids hospital, where she found great joy and created many lifelong friendships.
She had a deep love for Michigan sports and was a devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Lions. Marcia also enjoyed relaxing with game shows, spending time with her beloved dogs, and treating herself to simple pleasures like eating out, especially pancakes at Bob Evans and trips to A&W with her granddaughters. Above all, she was a kind and loving woman whose greatest joy came from her family—especially her grandchildren, who meant everything to her.
Marcia is survived by her son, Michael (Juliana) Galbraith; her grandchildren, Allyson (Eric) Los, Erika Galbraith, Konner Galbraith, Danika Galbraith, Kane Galbraith, and bonus grandkids Giuliano and Loretta Venditti; and one great-grandchild expected soon. She is also survived by her brothers, Keith (Carolyn) Babbitt and Bob (Beth) Babbitt, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Ann Galbraith, in 2007; and her brother Paul Babbitt.
A memorial service to celebrate Marcia’s life will be held at a later date. Care and arrangements are entrusted to Mohnke Janowicz Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
