Marcia Ann Ward's Obituary
Lakeview-Marcia Ann (Merlington) Ward, age 82, of Lakeview passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born in Lansing on October 15, 1938, to Ferris and Dorothy (Hansen) Merlington. At 2 years old Marcia moved with her parents to their family farm in Trufant. She graduated from Lakeview High School with the class of 1957. On November 9, 1957, Marcia married her high school sweetheart, Russell Ward. In 1960 they welcomed their first child, daughter, Becky Lou, soon to follow in 1962 was their son, Shane Kevin. She was employed for many years at Gibson in Belding along with Russell. Marcia had two grandchildren, Mandi and Micheal Wright (Her M & M's as she called them.) Marcia loved her family more than anything. She was the best mom and grandma and was always there when her family needed her. She enjoyed long holiday weekends with the whole family up north at their Bear Lake cabin, loved trips to the casino, and always looked forward to playing cards with friends several nights a week.
Marcia is survived by and will forever be missed by her son, Shane (Thresa) Ward of Howard City; son-in-law, Steven Wright of Lakeview; granddaughter, Mandi (Anthony) Kruithoff; grandson, Micheal (Samantha) Wright; step-grandchildren, Jennifer Ladanyi, Stephen (Andrea) Ladanyi; great-grandchildren, Madison Kruithoff, Kaleb Kruithoff, Kinsleigh Wright; step-great-grandchildren, Ayah, Hayden, Aliyah and Addilyn Ladanyi; brother, Randall (Cindy) Merlington of Greenville; sister, Julie (Norm) Bosworth of St. Mary's, GA; sister-in-law, Susan Lake-Duester of Deming, NM; 5 nephews and 2 nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Russell; daughter, Becky (Ward) Wright in 2019; her parents, Ferris and Dorothy; and her in-laws, Jarvis and Lucy Ward.
