Margaret Theresa Gombosh, aged 76, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024, at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Born on April 2, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, Margaret was the beloved daughter of Edward and Theresa (Neopolitan) McParlan.
Margaret dedicated many years to her career at Kmart in Dearborn, Michigan, from which she eventually retired. In 2007, she and her family relocated to Big Rapids, Michigan where she embraced a vibrant and fulfilling life.
A woman of many talents, Margaret had a passion for crocheting, especially creating beautiful afghans that brought warmth and comfort to many. She delighted in solving puzzles and had a deep appreciation for a diverse range of musical genres. Margaret was also an accomplished guitar player and a cherished member of her church choir.
Her love for movies was evident, with a particular fondness for disaster films, westerns, and the Transformers series. Fierce, sassy, and fiery, Margaret possessed a huge heart and was always there for anyone in need. Her home was a haven of hospitality, welcoming all with open arms. As a master caretaker, Margaret's nurturing spirit was felt by all who knew her. Her culinary skills were renowned, with her famous spinach dip being a cherished favorite.
Margaret is survived by her children, Magen (Christopher) Rizzo and Robert Gombosh; her sister, Mary Lentini; her brother, George (Ruth) McParlan; along with several nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
No services are planned at this time. Margaret's care and arrangements are entrusted to the Mohnke Janowicz Funeral Home in Big Rapids, Michigan.
