Margaret "Maggie" Ann Franklin's Obituary
Lakeview-Margaret "Maggie" Ann (Brown) Franklin, age 71, of Lakeview unexpectedly passed away into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 while at her winter home in Ocala FL. She was born in Knoxville, TN on December 13, 1949, the daughter of Aaron and Mary (Boling) Brown. She was raised in Hamtramck, MI and attended school there, graduating with the class of 1968. She continued her education at Central Michigan University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in psychology in 1994. She was employed by Central Michigan University for over 30 years and by Montcalm Community College for 4 years before her retirement in 2010. Maggie married Kenny Franklin on August 18, 2018 at the New Life United Methodist Church in Lakeview. She enjoyed traveling and shopping, and was a member of the Sonshine Worship Church in Lakeview. Maggie loved her family and spending time with them. She was considered a mother and grandma to all. She loved Jesus and talking about Him; she wanted to save the world, and had dreamed of doing missionary work. She will truly be missed by every life she touched.
Maggie is survived by her husband, Kenny; children, Laura (Jon) Greenhoe of Edmore, Susan (Bill) Burggren of Lakeview, Kevin Lumbert of Sand Lake, Jennifer Franklin of Illinois City, IL, Wendy Cairus of Cassville, MO; grandchildren, Kameron, Kayleigh, Drew, Garrett, Braden, Kelci; many great-grandchildren; brothers, Aaron (Corinne) Brown of Warren, Leonard (Dolores) Brown of Macomb; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Sue Banks, Jimmy Graves, James Brown; and the father of her children, "Bernie" Bernard Lumbert.
Funeral Services for Maggie will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at New Beginnings Church, 1154 W. Fleck Rd., Six Lakes, with Jacob Oebel officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
