Marguerite L. Feller's Obituary
Rodney Marguerite L. Feller, 89, of Rodney, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2008, at Whipples AFC Home in Rodney. She was born August 14, 1918, in Blanchard, the daughter of John and Frances (Husbard) Luppe, and lived most of her life in Mecosta County. She received her teaching certificate from Central Michigan College, and taught in one-room schoolhouses in the area, retiring from the Lakeview School District. She was formerly an active parishioner at St. Michaels Parish in Remus, where she served on the school board and taught associate catechism and R.C.I. A. classes. She was also an associate of the Detroit Sisters of Mercy, and was active in the womens prison ministry at Ionia State Penitentiary. Her 2 husbands, Peter Colgrove and Walter Feller, preceded Marguerite in death. Surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 17, 2008, at St. Marys Catholic Church in Big Rapids, with Rev. Lam T. Le celebrant. Burial will follow in the Morton Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions for either St. Marys or St. Michaels Catholic Schools may be left at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, where friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 p.m., and at the church prior to services on Monday.
