Marguerite Maggie Ferguson's Obituary
Big Rapids- Marguerite M. "Maggie" Ferguson age 90 of Big Rapids. Maggie worked as shift foreman at a war plant making 500 lb. bombs prior to moving to Michigan. She worked for 9 years as activities director at Greenridge (now Metron) nursing home. She served as a Monroe township trustee for 50 years. Maggie enjoyed serving her Little White Church on the hill in Woodville for many years and in many capacities. She was the unelected Mayor of Woodville for 50 years and the self-proclaimed "Sarge" to children of her community. Maggie is survived by three children, Peggy Brennan of Big Rapids, Al (Bonnie) Thebo of Rodney, Vicki (Rob) Burke of Big Rapids, four step children, Robert (Linda) Ferguson of Phoenix, AZ, Ronald (Sharen) Ferguson of Big Rapids, Timothy Ferguson of Hersey, Randall (Cherrie) Ferguson of Muskegon, twenty grandchildren, thirty-seven greatgrandchildren, two sisters, Norma McCabe and Rena Wilson and one sister-in-law, Wanda Windsor, plus many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Clare Thebo and Virgil Ferguson, one daughter, Diane "DD" Thebo and one son-in-law, Harry Brennan, plus two brothers and two sisters Funeral services for Maggie will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday September 13, 2011 at the Woodville Community Church with Pastors Brett Werner and Foster Brummel officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodville Community Church Ladies Aid Fund
