Margurete Violet Bondie-Johnson's Obituary
Edmore-Margurete Violet Bondie-Johnson, age 91, of Six Lakes, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020, at Woodland Hospice House in Mt Pleasant. She was born on October 6, 1928, in Wyandotte, MI, the daughter of Edward and Violet (Terteling) Thomas. Margurete was raised in Flat Rock, MI and attended school at Trenton Slocom Truax in Trenton. She married Ord Kenneth Bondie on May 12, 1947 in Bryon, OH and spent 47 years together before his passing in January of 1995. She was employed by Ora Ida Foods for 18 years and then by Hansen's Farms for two years before her retirement. Margurete loved her family, and dancing, dancing and more dancing. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking, sightseeing, country and gospel jams and doing things for friends. When it came to potluck dinners, she was ready to feed the world! She was a member of the First Church of God in Edmore.
Margurete is survived by her daughter, Julie (Randy) Davis of Six Lakes; her grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Nickerson, Dennis Lee Bondie Jr., Farron Bondie, Armen Bondie Jr., Eric Bondie, and Mellissa Bondie; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Mildred Brochue of Trenton, MI, William (Marlene) Thomas of NC, and Robert (Ann) Thomas of Flat Rock, MI.; her sister-in-law, Eugenia Thomas of Taylor, MI.; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ord; her sons, Dennis Lee Bondie and Armen Jay Bondie Sr; her granddaughter, Michele Rae Davis; her parents, Edward and Violet; her brother, Edward Thomas; and her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Robert Morris.
A celebration of Margurete's life will be scheduled for a later date. Interment will take place at Decker Cemetery, Blanchard.
