Maria Delia Perez's Obituary
Lakeview-Maria Delia (Ysasi) Perez, age 85, of Lakeview went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. She was born in La Paloma, TX on June 2, 1934 the daughter of Jose and Ruth (Balli) Ysasi. Maria was raised in Brownsville, TX. She married Israel Perez in Alice, TX on January 2, 1952, and they moved their growing family to Lakeview, MI in 1963. She worked for Heinz during the summer for over 10 years. Many people in the area still call her "grandma" from the time she spent helping at Perez Day Care. Maria Loved the outdoors, gardening and playing with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed going to the casino, puzzles, playing bingo and cooking. She was a member of the Lakeview VFW Auxiliary and St Francis De Sales Catholic Church.
Maria will be missed and is survived by her children, Israel Perez Jr, Sonia (Les) Behrenwald, Rene (Joyce) Perez, Joann (Marty) Perez, Ricky (Linda) Perez, Stela Perez, Vangie Perez-Elliott, Jesse (Jana) Perez, Betty (Mark) Day; 35 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; her dog, buddy; nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Israel Perez; parents, Jose and Ruth Ysasi; daughter, Sylvia Harrer; son, Robert Y Perez; grandchildren, Jessica Renee Garske, Joshua Scott and Jacqueline Sue Taylor; sister, Rachel Hillman; and brothers, Martin and Willie Ysasi.
A celebration of life and luncheon will be held from 1 - 4 PM on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Lakeview VFW Post 3701, 8968 N Greenville Rd, Lakeview. Condolences can be made by utilizing the guestbook at www.brighamfuneralchapel.com
