Marian Louise Raab's Obituary
Big Rapids-Marian Louise Raab, 81, of Big Rapids, Michigan passed away Monday, December 16. Marian was born on January 24, 1932 in Jackson, Michigan, the daughter of Lawrence and Gertrude (Sieh) Rainey. She moved to Big Rapids in 1952 to work for the Donley Law Office. In 1953 she married Arthur G. Raab, who preceded her in death in 1969. Marian went to work as a secretary in the Technical and Applied Arts Department at Ferris State University where she retired after 28 years in 1992. Marian was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church all the while she lived in Big Rapids. She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Shaw, four sons, David, Leslie, Philip (Michele), and Ronald (Nena) Raab; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one brother, Clarence Rainey, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Jerry Raab, three brothers, and one sister. Funeral services for Marian will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 21, 2013 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church with Pastor John Bookshaw officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Interment will be at the Highland View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mecosta County Commission on Aging for "Meals on Wheels" or to St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
