I attended Ferris State College from 1980-82. I was never a very good student when it came to the subject of English. The only reason that I took any English class is that it was a requirement. Then I found myself in Mrs. Schiffer's English class. She always had a smile that would light up the room. Her friendly personality made me actually look forward to attending her class.
I'm sure that she will be missed. My condolences go out to her friends & family. Rest assured that the Lord has a special place for her.
Marie and I were long time teaching associates at a Michigan University. She was fine professor and appreciated by all her students to whom she taught English. It was my pleasure to know her as a fellow professor and personal friend. She will be missed. I extend condolences to the family and fellow friends. Tom Colladay
